Ruth Vollmer (1900-1982) was a sculptor; Hermann Vollmer (1896-1959) was a pediatric physician. By the late 1930s they had emigrated from Germany to New York City. Ludwig Landshoff, German musicologist and conductor, studied music in Munich and Berlin, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Munich in 1901.
